Gfi mailessentials user is getting emails not through gfi

I the admin gets an email that there are failed mails on the server. Now, when then system stops scanning incoming emails, the emails are put into the security\failedmails folder. Then about a week ago, GFI must have changed something in one of the updates. A restart of the GFI services on the server sets this right again and filtering is back to normal. Fortunately, the antivirus still works and stops infected emails.

All inbound emails are 'OK' and sent to the users inbox. Mail running fine and then for some reason, nothing gets spammed (Sent to junk folder). Over the last two weeks we have on a daily basis 1 or 2 or 3 different locations experience the same issue. We have several customers that have on-premise Exchange and we use GFI Mail Essentials for protection.
